Wrong Side of Heaven- Five Finger Death Punch

As we’ve seen in this project, some songs are made to be listened, and this is one of them. Just the title has enough meaning to make us think a little, Wrong side of Heaven is a song which speaks about war veterans which are not enough rewarded, after all they’ve seen and most of them live in the streets now, having no food, no home and most of them having mental sequels because of the war.

This song also has a lot of religious references;” I spoke to God today, and she said that she’s ashamed, what have I become? What have I done” and” I spoke to the Devil today, and he swears he’s not to blame, and I understood,’ cause I feel the same” between many others. Making reference to the fact that they need somebody to be forgiven, and once they realize that nobody is going to help them, they try to forgive themselves in Heaven. A Heaven which is sold as the one reserved for war veterans, but they notice that Heaven is not what the government says, because then they would be on the wrong side of heaven.

I really like this song because besides the fact that the lyrics are really powerful and sound like they really want to change this, the message in the song is a topic which is not really spoken, because yes, the veterans are heroes when they are in war, but once they get back to their countries, nobody seems to remember them, which is really sad. In fact, the simple reason these guys were sent there is to protect billionaire interests, and then turn our faces to them. Some things must be changed in this
